Alison can address many of the symptoms and even the root causes involved in Fatigue conditions using Mindfulness, CST, Swedish Massage and Reiki in Exeter and Exminster. Including bringing down inflammation and activation, releasing tensions and supporting departure from flight, fight and freeze modes.

Many parts of our bodily system can begin to function more effectively and rebalance once we are in a state of deep relation. She finds that working with these skills can benefit many conditions.

Alison has particular experience using Mindfulness, Craniosacral Therapy, Swedish Massage and Reiki in Exeter to address cardioavascular, nervous, muscular and bone health. She has helped many spinal problems, chronic pain, anxiety, stress, insomnia, migraines, relationship difficulties, birth and other trauma.

Alison finds it particularly inspiring that she can help clients on a journey towards their best selves, through her work in Mindfulness, Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki in Exeter and Exminster. She is interested in how compassion can be used to this end, and how clients can help themselves and loves to include self-help tips and techniques in her sessions and in her Blog and Facebook and Instagram Pages.

Alison's long-term experiences and interest in how the body works have given her further insights into various bodily systems. Now the techniques support her knowledge of the human body and the systems involved for her Practice of CST, Massage, Mindfulness and Reiki in Exeter.

Alison's background includes a PhD in Medical Engineering and various other medical engineering projects involving the Lymphatic system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system and the hip joint (centering on the 'Exeter hip', hip prothetic).

The painting, shown below and on the welcome page is largely based on a dream Alison had around 15 years before she decided to study any of the techniques she now concentrates on (ie. her practice using and teaching Mindfulness and Meditation, Craniosacral Therapy, Swedish Massage and Reiki in Exeter, and Exminster).

Looking back, the dream seems to connect with these techniques for her and waking people up. Indeed mindfulness can be described as waking to the present moment.

The dream began with a frightening roaring lion that turned out to be very small with a big bristly dark mane. The lion was nurtured by a King and Queen and grew big and calm and lost it’s bristly mane. It was then able to take the King and Queen flying and help them awaken people in suspended animation hanging in the sky.

For Alison many of the details of this dream resonate with things she has learned through her Practice of Mindfulness, Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki in Exeter and the wider area and it feels very right for her to be using all three to help people.

The name Rozalla was also inspired by a dream, in which it was the name of a house. There is some thought that houses in dreams represent the soul of the person and it felt very personal to use it for her business.

In her spare time Alison is a ski instructor and loves writing and singing music. She loves to help out at the adaptive skiing group and see how the sport can bring people out of themselves and engage. It is such a warm and friendly group to see people flourish in.

Alison is very interested in the therapeutic properties of music and this is reflected in many of her songs, they are often inspired by personal challenges, growth, healing, mindfulness, embodiment and a desire to uplift. Bringing the same energy to her music as her practice in Craniosacral Therapy, Mindfulness, Swedish Massage  and Reiki in Exeter and Exminster.

Body Stories

Our graceful dance of connection and empathy.

Spatial needs met, compassionately held.

Ebbing and flowing with sensitivity, contact an invitation,

The whole self to feel safe and to rest in the present, no matter our past.

Within this cocoon, knots expand, letting go our protective ways; even just for one, deeply restful moment.

All that has been held can release.

Those times that we could not face, those times that we pushed away, down, down into a tense festering ball, those times that come back to bite us. Soothed, all softening, ready for change.

Through our unwinding; implicit memories can surface, stories held in our body. Details unknown, narratives felt as a child remembers. Like the cow she tells us, shows us would not eat, when it was her all along.

Babies, adults, all our welcomed and held. Grief surfaces as bodily injuries process, or the grief of loss; overwhelm, anger, fear, frustrated screaming…..

The belly digests in a rumble or I feel the cathartic flowing through and out.

So, the weight of that time can come up in safety, to release.

We cycle back through onion layers to when our ways of holding ourselves began; ways that don’t serve us now.

Maybe a moment around birth; stuck or wrestling our all, against an unwelcome intervention. Though it was needed, it was rough and not understood.

Maybe shock around the cord, the bringer of all nourishment, cut, lost.

There was a time when connection was life or death.

What was needed then, can be given now.

The body’s story can be told, heard and so let go.

Testimonials

Prior to starting Craniosacral therapy I wasn't sure what it was or whether it would work for me. I used to suffer from horrible lower back pain and had to put my legs up every night in order to sleep. I heard from a few people that it cured their pain and relaxed them to the core.

During my first session with Alison I reached the deepest state of relaxation I've experienced and left without pain in my back. That was only the first session! I no longer need that pillow for my legs to sleep.

It's remarkable what her sessions have done for my mind and body. If any of you locals are interested in trying her out, please do. I'm now a huge Craniosacral therapy advocate and highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks Alison Macdonald for all your help. I'm lucky to have met you.

Testimonials

I've found Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki with Alison so very helpful. My pain is much more manageable now and I tried so many other techniques (alternative and main stream) that did'nt touch it.

Testimonials

I came to Alison about issues with stress-related migraines, constant tiredness and low energy. I didn’t know what to expect. The session was very gentle but the effect was almost immediately tangible. My energy was up, I felt a lot calmer and since the treatment, the migraines have significantly reduced in frequency.

Will be asking for more sessions. Highly recommended

Testimonials

I had my daughter at home today for the first time since your treatment and wow what a difference in her mood. She was very happy all day, no sign of pain and her spoken language had made another big leap forward. [The treatment] made a big impact on her in a way I didn’t think possible. One of your great skills is your empathy, kindness and willingness to take time to understand
